She's worked at many of the top outlets worldwide. She worked for The Washington Post nearly a decade and covered Grand Slam Tennis and Grand Slam Football as well playing basketball in multiple Olympics. Nichols was awarded two Emmy Awards during her nine-year time at ESPN as well as being featured on many of the network's most popular shows like NFL Countdown or SportsCenter, changed to ESPN after 2004. Additionally, she worked as a correspondent for Monday Night Football on the network. After she left ABC, her following destination was CNN and Turner Sports. Nichols also reported on golf, baseball and Final Four broadcasts for CBS and TBS. Only the second woman has been chosen from more than 200 nominees over the history of 42 years for the honor.
